November Nutrition Tips - Surviving the Holiday Parties

Going to a holiday party? It's kinda hard to miss them this time of year. Even if you don't go out of your way to attend one, there's a good chance there will be a montage of food circulating the workplace. During the holiday season, we tend to go out more and are tempted with things we may not normally eat. Here are some tips to help you stay on track:

  • Offer to bring a healthy dish with you. If they don't eat it, guess who has their weeks worth of snacks already made!

  • Don’t go hungry. Just cause you know you're about to enter a food kingdom, don't walk in starving!

  • Load up on the raw veggies. Start with a small plate and you're less likely to fill up on empty calories. This also greatly reduces that "guilty" feeling for eating nothing but sweets!

  • Don’t stand near the food tables. This encourages grazing!

Carry water with you at all times and sip on it throughout the day. Water creates satiety; the feeling of being full.
