Part 3 of 8, How to make the most of your time in the gym
Trust us. We understand busy schedules. In fact, many of the members we have here at Alvin CrossFit initially joined because they needed a more efficient workout that didn’t require them to be in the gym for hours at a time. That’s why we’ve compiled this list of eight ways you can make your time at the box as productive and fulfilling as possible.

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS, CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENTS If you’re serious about hitting your fitness goal, it’s critical to track your progress. And we don’t mean stepping on the scale every morning and completely freaking out at any increase in weight. Muscle is 3x as dense as fat so it takes up 3x LESS space on your body! If you’re doing it right you’ll gain lean muscle while losing fat & that doesn’t always result in seeing a lower number on the scale but you will DEFINITELY notice your clothes fitting differently within 2-3 weeks. Just look at the difference! Throw out that scale and buy a notebook or use a smartphone app to track progress. There's lots of great FREE ones out there like My Fitness Pal for food logging or Sugar WOD for workout and PR (personal record) tracking. Keeping track of your progress and it will help you train with a purpose. If you do a Benchmark Workout in 9 minutes then the next time that Benchmark comes up, you’ll have a goal to beat! Chances are, if you've been coming regularly (See Part 2 of this series), you'll improve. Bottom line: Knowing what you did yesterday will help you be better today.
